| Meissner hopes new instructor helps artistic side |
|
The newest member of Kimmie Meissner's coaching team is a free spirit who cheerfully concedes that he knows nothing of figure skating, travels the country in a clunker Jeep with a bungee-corded tarp for a roof and 260,000 on the odometer, and keeps his clothes in a waterproof plastic box.
Meet Gyula Pandi, at age 64, one part cheerleader, one part nag, one part choreographer.
With the Winter Olympics eight months away, the former performer and teacher with the Hungarian Ballet Company is on board to help Meissner prepare for competition in the areas where judges have often downgraded her.
"Tilt your head. Listen to the music," he commands before the skater begins her long program. "Stand up straighter."
"Don't bite your lips," he shouts over the music. "Smile, smile."
Like many teenage skaters, Meissner has struggled with a body still finding its center of gravity and an emotional well that is not yet full. Long limbs that should embrace an audience and enchant judges have appeared somewhat stiff and mechanical. Music meant to touch the soul has seemed to miss the mark. Eye contact - something Michelle Kwan and Sasha Cohen made into an art form - remains a work in progress.

| News and The Future Of This Site |
|
Well I have some amazing news! I am engaged! I am very excited about heading into this new chapter of my life with this amazing and wonderful guy. He is the love of my life and I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with him. Also I am trying to decide where I am going to go with this site for the future. I love doing it and I love Kimmie but between the time and the cost that it takes to run this site I am unsure as to where the future of this site is going. I want to keep it going because I love it but I haven't really had a whole lot of time to update it lately. Then the other fact is the cost with having to plan for a wedding and all their is a lot of cost there. It costs more than $100 to run this site each year and that adds up. Once I am married and starting my own family I am going to want to be putting my money there and putting my time into that because for me my friends and my family are very important and this site as fun as it is hasn't been my top priority lately as you can sort of tell. I have made no decision yet and I know their will be those with their opinions and all that. But in the end it will be my decision whatever that might be. But as my wedding comes closer and closer I think I will have less and less time to work on this and I never want to do something half way I want to be giving it my everything and if I can't be doing that for this site anymore than maybe it is time for this chapter of my life to close. I will keep you all posted. Thanks.

| Meissner ready to rebound after tough season |
|
Kimmie Meissner prepared for the worst and got the best.
The former world and national champion from Bel Air suffered through a disastrous season last year that ended with a painful hip injury, and she figured the best she could hope for was a single Grand Prix competition this fall leading up to the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
Instead, the International Skating Union gave her two: the Rostelecom Cup in Moscow on Oct. 15-18 and the NHK Trophy in Nagano, Japan, on Nov. 5-8.
"I wasn't really paying attention. I was, like, 'I'm not going to worry about it. I'm just going to do what I can do,' " she said Friday during a break from practice at Ice World in Abingdon. "Then all of the sudden, I had two of them. I was just so shocked and just like so happy."
She competed in Moscow last season and finished eighth out of 10 women. Japan, too, is familiar turf; she had a fifth-place finish at the 2005 NHK Trophy in Osaka and took fourth at the 2007 world championships in Tokyo.
"I love going to Japan. You get treated like a rock star when you're there," Meissner said. "All the skaters want to skate even better because it's in front of a Japanese audience and they know what they're looking at."
Her short program is a revamped version of Un Ange Passe, the music she used last season. Her long program will be skated to Romeo and Juliet.
Before she can set her sights on the Grand Prix season, however, Meiss- ner and coaches Richard Callaghan and Todd Eldredge will test her new material at regional events, most likely at the Liberty Figure Skating Club of Philadelphia's competition, July 17 and 18, or Skate Detroit, July 21-25.

| Still Here |
|
I really feel like I have been letting this site go but their isn't much to do with Kimmie being out for this season. I have been checking for pictures and news frequently but haven't had much to update. Sorry. I am not going anywhere nor is this site being shutdown any time now or in the near future. I have been busy so it has been somewhat of a blessing to not have to be trying to update. But I still love this site and I will continue to work on it and update with news and all that when it comes out. Until then I have updated my personal site Spoken For. You can check that out at http://www.spoken-for.com. This site will be getting a new layout and all that in the very near future.

| Hey All |
|
Just writing on here to let everyone no that I am still alive and that all is still go here. Their isn't much to update obviously. It is weird with Worlds going on this year and Kimmie not being there. Congrats to Evan Lysacek on winning the world title!!! That is awesome!!! Other than I will be working on a new layout for this site. I am no longer running the Kimmie Meissner fanlisting. Since no one joined I don't think that will be that big of a deal. But I will update when I can. That is all for now. Good luck to both Rachael and Alissa who will be competing today!!!

| Going On Short Hiatus |
|
I am putting this site on a short hiatus. With Kimmie not competing the rest of the season this really shouldn't be a big deal because their isn't much too update. But I have been really sick these last few weeks and I am just beginning to recover but I am still physically drained and I have been taking time to recuperate. I have been off from work this entire week and have been pretty much on bed rest all this week. Once I begin feeling better everything will be updated. I have a bunch of messages to Kimmie to add. I will be back soon and I am sorry for the lack of updates.

| Kimmie Meissner withdraws from U.S. skating nationals |
|
CLEVELAND (AP) — Former world champion Kimmie Meissner is out of this week's U.S. Figure Skating Championships because of a hip flexor injury.
Meissner withdrew Monday, saying she is still feeling pain when she jumps. She hurt herself sprinting on a treadmill about a week ago and aggravated the injury during training.
Meissner said in a statement from U.S. Figure Skating that she is "very disappointed" about not competing in Cleveland.
Meissner was the surprise winner at the 2006 world championships, and won her first U.S. title the following year. But she has struggled since, finishing seventh at last year's nationals.
